Strawberry Picking at Terhune Orchards

A lot of NYC’ers have second homes. In the Hampton’s, Upstate, Conneticut, in Miami?! We go home to Minnesota a lot, but we like to joke that our second home is at our friends house in New Jersey. This place could fit a family of 15, has the best backyard, has all the best parts of a Toys R’ Us, and our friends also happen to make mean cocktails and homemade ice cream. How lucky are we?

We crashed at “our” second home a few weeks ago, enjoying the benefits of the suburbs like taking a walk in the middle of street and having a grill…and a strawberry picking toddler dreamworld which was a few miles from “our” Jersey residence. Terhune Orchards in Princeton, NJ has strawberry picking (duh), the most adorable little farm store, wine tasting, chickens, rabbits, two cows, and a goat. Juliette literally put her hand in a goat’s mouth and called it “soft”. We went home smelling like a farm, with three quarts of strawberries in the trunk and another three in our bellies 🙂

If you haven’t taken your toddler fruit picking and don’t mind if your toddler eats fruit covered in dirt (I mean, it’s natural?) I recommend it! Especially if you can do it with friends.
