When Shawn and I moved into our current Brooklyn space, we spent about six months calling our extra room, measuring at a tiny six by eight feet, our “office-to-be”, until it became know as the nursery for baby-to-be. The room is all white with a window on a fire escape and is truly just a touch bigger than a full-sized air mattress. We had to really work to keep the minimal floor space still feel open and spacious. We decided to keep almost everything white (as I was so excited about having a girl I had to use a lot of restraint to keep everything from being bubblegum pink!) and buy smallish furniture.
The results are sweet, simple, and just the right amount of feminine for our mini-babe. I hope you like her nursery as much as I hope she likes it!

Thank you for sharing! I found your blog a bit ago while searching for midwest bloggers, and I've been following along since. I'm expecting my first in March and live in a small apartment with a sleeping porch soon-to-be nursery that needs small furniture. This is super helpful as most blogs show nurseries way larger than what we're working with or they're decorated with a seemingly endless budget.
Thanks Lauren! I appreciate this so much! Congrats on your having your first and I good luck with the small-scale decorating!
