Black, Gold, and Fur at the Ballet

My
Christmas gift from Shawn for the last four years has been tickets to the New
York City ballet (the performance of my hinting) with fondue to start at
Kashkaval. This year was no exception. I got out an “Uptown” friendly dress
(i.e. not a mini skirt), my new shiny wedges that were practically free, and
the faux fur that was a bridesmaid gift from my sister’s wedding (I told her I’d
wear it all the time and I meant it!)
Being
at Lincoln Center, seeing the ballet, is in short incredible, even for non-dancers.
The ambiance of the jewel-looking lighting and all-dressed-up crowd is
perfectly appropriate for such high-brow art. This year’s performance (of
hinting) was Scenic Delight, which took the most beautiful vignettes of the
most striking ballets and put them together into one, with some of the costumes
by Valentino accompanied with hot pink pointe shoes. That specific ballet is
all sold out this year (#sorrynotsorry), but there’s always 2015.

Faux Fur (was a bridesmaid gift!)- AliExpress, gold wedge shoes – J. Crew (on sale), Dress – Forever 21 (old, similar here).

This picture doesn’t do justice to the lighting at Lincoln Center.
My favorite dancer (crush) Robert Fairchild.
