Last
week the 5th year annual Girlsgiving was held at my former residence
and home of my girlfriends in Brooklyn. The description of Girlgiving is easy,
just swap the ‘Thanks’ from Thanksgiving with ‘Girls’ and you get the point. We
are thankful for our female friends, our femaleness, and our ability to eat
thirds (on stuffing AND wine) without judgment. The tradition started when all
us girls felt like having wine and pie for dinner near the Thanksgiving holiday
and ever since then the yearly celebration has gotten better, bigger, and slightly
more gourmet over the last five years. I have the easiest job of buying “turkeys”
(actually rotisserie chickens) and Prosecco, while everyone else shows up with
homemade stuffing and dessert. There is usually a fun “twist”. Last year the
oven started on fire, one year Kristy made a pilgrim “hats” on a whims notice
out of construction paper and headbands, and this year there was an after party
that involved dancing and Cards Against Humanity. It’s truly a great tradition
I recommend to anyone with friends who enjoy eating and each other.
Princess Dancing Bunny and Princess Drunk Unicorn, respectively.

Thankful for these girls: Paige, Em, Shanners, Kristy and Jess.
Grub Glory

He needed all six of these jumbo Berkshire Brewing Co. beers.

In my new pink hat.
Starting my holiday shopping at the Union Square Holiday Market...
Finishing off the weekend with some AHS Coven…which doesn’t totally go with my Pottery Barn lanterns.

Do you celebrate a non-family Thanksgiving?
