Minneapolis Bachelorette Party

Last
weekend was my sister Marena’s Bachelorette bash in Minneapolis! Marena, her fiancé,
her dog, and her girlfriends live in Omaha, so Minneapolis was a nice road
trippy sort of destination for them.
As
Marena’s Matron-of-Honor, I have been planning this party for a few months now.
When there are fourteen girls + booze involved one must really “have their act
together”. We got two rooms at the Doubletree hotel downtown Minneapolis, and
the party started Friday and ended Sunday later than planned as a few
stragglers ended up at The Local rather than going right home. Here was the
schedule:

Friday:

4:00-5:00 PM – Girls arrive and start getting
ready to hit the town

5:30 PM – Dinner/drinks Happy Hour syle at
Solera

8:00 PM – Brave New Workshop “Best Of” Show

10:00 PM- Our nightcap ended up being a
crazed dance party + bull riding at Cowboy Jack’s

Saturday:

11:00 AM  Brunch at Loring Kitchen
(unlimited Mimosas for $10!)

1:10-2:40 PM – Figure Skating at Braemar
arena, costume necessary

3:00 PM– Free time!

7:00 PM– regroup and get ready! Get your
shower in early if you are “slow” at doing your hair.

8:00 PM – Games, Pressies, Sweets, Champs in
the hotel

9:30 PM: Dinner and margs at Barrio

11:00 PM – Gay  90’s for dancing and
drag queens! Sneaky Pete’s for more dancing!

Sunday:

9:30 AM – Eat the rest of the snacks in the
room and go home

The
weekend was a raging success, no one ended up in jail, no animals were freed
from the zoo. Just a lot of pleather pants and sugary shots.
Hangover kits courtesy of my mom and personalized stemless champs glasses I got for the girls.
Glasses for the girls from Style Dahlia on Etsy.
Some fun waiting for the girls to arrive at the hotel.

Cheerleader camp pose before heading out.

Marena posing in her onesie outside the Brave New Workshop theater before the “Best of” show.
A tradition with Marena’s friends is having the bride-to-be try on all her married and engaged girlfriends rings at the same time for a major blinged out photo opp.

Marena found it HILARIOUS to put food in people’s clutches all weekend. Here is hers with peanuts, Saturday night I put an entire pork taco in her Kate Spade.
I wore a black skirt and black crop top out each night…I’m probably better at playing the jazz flute than packing…and I’ve never taken a stab at the flute so…
I snuck in a little Mom time during the comedy show.
Our boozy brunch at Loring Kitchen on Saturday morning. I recommend their Bloody-Tinis. Oh and I broke a shot glass while cheering along to a Britney Spears song the waiters serenaded us with.
So we had a couple cocktails/cheap beers at brunch…

Back to the hotel to change into spandex…obviously.

The windbreaker is back friends.

We visited Whitney Saturday night at Gay 90’s.
Marena exhibited the skills one can while wearing gold spandex pants.
Did I mention Saturday night was Minneapolis’ insane Zombie Pub Crawl? How cute!

Thanks for the best weekend girls!
